Mt. Eden - Sierra Leone (feat. Freshly Ground) [TWO OWLS Remix]

The funny thing about a lot of dance music goers is they skip over samples and expect every producer or DJ just writes every single note they play. I always loved "Sierra Leone" by Mt. Eden but knowing that the hook wasn't there's at all changed things way back in 2009 when this went viral. You're talking a non-commercial production duo sampling an unknown artist (to American ears) and it becoming one of the first big dubstep hits in the world. With well over 100 million views on Youtube and well over 200k subscribers on youtube, it's safe to say that Mt. Eden will go down in bass history as one of the first to break through to mainstream sound systems. With all that being said, a new official remix was dropped this week by Two Owls. Typically I don't get down on a lot of Ultra Music's releases but this one was good enough for me. You can get this tune through Itunes HERE. And it is pretty damn good if you ask me, check it out below!

DAMN!!! Diamond Pistols drops "Gold Rush" ft. Reese and it is Huge!

DAMN!!! Diamond Pistols drops "Gold Rush" ft. Reese and it is Huge!

This new one by Diamond Pistols ft. Reese is fan-fucking-tastic. We have been away for a little bit so it's nice to come back to hearing just some truly incredible music leading into the festival season. This tune "Gold Rush" originally premiered on Earmilk. I love the breakdown with acoustic guitar and repetitive vocal patterns laid over the top that leads us into a full dismount into pure beautiful aural bliss before building right back into a beautiful drop. Diamond Pistols does it again! Future bass is a genre that some ridicule and some fucking just piss on. I love it. I have been covering the likes of Wave Racer and had Ryan Hemsworth use some of my photos from Movement 2014. Yes, years before you hated the genre some of us were already doing work in it. I'm so over so many people in dance music who only hold onto genres that have been around for decades. Not allowing advancement doesn't sound very techno to me. But hey, who am I but a two bit Downriver Rat who just loves bass heavy pretty music to smoke to.

Check it out below and make sure to give Diamond Pistols a follow on Soundcloud.
